Jay-Z Takes the Subway to an Arena He Owns and Sits Next to the Only Person in New York Who Doesn’t Know Who Jay-Z is
Sean “Jay-Z” Carter is the most famous and successful rapper in history. Ellen Grossman is a 67-year-old artist from Brooklyn who apparently has no idea what her borough’s most famous son looks like. When Jay (and a dozen security guards) decided to take the R train to the last of his eight sold-out shows at the Barclays Center, he just so happened to sit next to Ms. Grossman, the only person in New York or the civilised world who doesn’t know who Jay-Z is. The ensuing conversation is one of the more heartwarming things we’ve seen this year. #BWAM doesn’t mean we don’t have hearts. See the entire exchange on Gawker.
